We Can Do Anything We Put Our Minds To When It Is Meant For Us

After I wrote a manuscript in long hand in 1998 then went to type it up on my electric typewriter, one of my grandmother’s home attendants who was sitting across from me in the living room uttered, “You can’t do that”.

“Yes, I can”, I immediately responded back without hesitation!

Is not that what most authors do- type up their own manuscript? Who was she to tell me what I could not do?

All she did was sit on her behind all day long looking for elderly people to take advantage of. This was confirmed later on when she came to my mother scared as she thought a man that she was trying to get over on had no family to look out for him.

We even caught her stealing grocery money from my grandmother. She would buy cheap stuff then keep the rest of the money for herself. We caught on to her right away and reported her.

Months later, once my manuscript was completed, and the publisher sent me the galley proofs to approve the same home attendant commented to me after seeing my book about to be printed, “Aren’t you going to mention the people who encouraged you, who told you that you could do it?

I frankly told her that I already knew that I could do it! And, she chuckled.

I was not being arrogant within my words just truthful. I knew that I was capable of writing books no one had to encourage me. The few people I had told beforehand knew me well enough to know that I was capable too.

This home attendant was so average in nature and cliche. She did not know me personally, or my background and history in writing.

She was judging by her preconceived notions based on reflections of her own insecurities. I read her easily.

I used this true account as an example of never letting anyone tell you what you cannot do, especially when they are not familiar with you.

Some underestimate others or downplay others out of envy and jealousy.

She never denied that I was intelligent, but the fact that I was able to accomplish what I set out to do made her feel uncomfortable.

Of course, this goes on within all fields of work one may choose, goals one may have, undertakings one may pursue, and within all walks of life when people try to interfere.

Some people are not as confident or as strong as others and let others discouraged them from carrying out their desires.

When some people aren’t going anywhere in life, they don’t want to see others branch out either.

Some people play head-games. They are aware of the talents and abilities that others have yet they want to see if they can make one doubt themself. So, they will test people.

There are a lot of dirty people within the world, however, I was never one to fall for anybody’s crap.

I always believed in myself.

As long as something makes one happy or content go for it and enjoy what brings you into your own.

My Early Days Of Writing

My mother encouraged and backed me up on everything that I wanted to do within life.

My mother bought me my first electric typewriter when I was eleven or twelve. Before then, she had bought two regular typewriters, each up to par with the level of age that I was at the time.

I had all the supplies I needed. Plenty of paper and pencils to write out in long-hand.

I was prepared.

I had the opportunity to get published by a mainstream publisher at age ten. I was taken seriously as a young child.

I will never forget those days of support and belief in me.

It is important for parents to have faith in their children when it is warranted.

A lot of us know at an early age what we want to be and do when we become adults. We may have to take other jobs instead, in the meantime, or while we pursue our true love.

We can even enjoy doing more than one career!

Writing will always be my first love. It is something I will always engage in.

My mother majored in secretarial science. So, I get the writing spark from her, one of the many things we had in common.

I still remember how I used to sit at my dresser as a preteen with hot cups of tea and milk gathering up ideas for novels I was creating.

Some Of Us As Writers

As writers we become inspired by everything around us. Anything can become an idea, topic, or story. We express our creativity within so many ways.

Writing is a passion, a drive, an exciting flow of magnetic energy.

The pull will call to us at any time of the day.

We may store up the information that formulates into our minds, write it down for later, or stop what we are already doing to wholeheartedly comply unto literary interaction.

If we cannot immediately stop what we are in the middle of doing we will entertain the thought with anticipation until the exact moment is perfected.

Our writings do not have to be phenomenal, just relational. Relational in a way that identifies to us.

We connect to our work.

We like to be challenged and we challenge ourselves.

We are in a world where we are free. Free to explore and to express our very own thoughts.

We express ourselves in ways that are therapeutic, cathartic, and rejuvenating.

We invent, we share, we motivate.

We are all talented within our own ways with interests that range from as far as east is to the west.

To each his or her own in the world of writing.

One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. What may be one person’s thing may not be another’s. So, an experienced writer should not base their success on whether or not their material is well-liked or popular.

Success means different things to different people.

Success to me is what brings my own individual fulfillment not by what is defined as another person’s interpretation of satisfaction.

WordPress: Likes And Follows

It is nice when others appreciate or compliment one’s writing/blog/creativity.

However, one should not depend on others to like or to comment as the fuel for encouragement or inspiration.

If you let people make you then they will be able to break you.

You must believe within yourself and like what you do if or when nobody else does.

Sure, there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism if it is warranted. There is always room for improvement in all areas and aspects.

One should not base success or failure on how many likes or comments that one does or does not receive.

Everyone is not genuine and everyone is not phony.

However, just because someone clicks the like button on a post does not mean that they really liked or enjoyed what they read.

And, just because someone did not click the like button on a post does not mean that they did not like it. People can love another person’s work without bothering to respond in any way.

People are reading other people’s blogs or writings even if they do not think they are. Do not always rely on what you see because things are not always as they seem.

There are a lot of sincere people on WordPress and within the internet world.

Nevertheless, I must be real because there are too many people on WordPress and within the internet world in general for everyone to be completely honest or interested.

This factor is not just a “blogging thing” but an everyday worldly thing. It is universal within all dealings in life.

We all have unique styles, taste, and preferences. Some of us relate to one another some of us do not. It does not mean our writings are not good or appealing. Everyone is not going to like everything about us or what may result from us. It does not matter, and it is nothing to take personal.

To each his or her own.

We all have wonderful things to create, share, and offer. None of our contributions should be hindered by the expectation of others.

Expect the best to come from oneself by doing the best that one can. Do not look to others to validate what is already confirmed from within.

I am honest if I hit the like button or give a comment. I was not normally one to do those things routinely (click the like button or make comments often) throughout the years. It did not mean if I read something it was not interesting or good to me. A lot of us are that way.

When I have the time, I respond back to people who took the time to read my blog and I find wonderful, talented, interesting writings from people as I visit their blogs.

There is so much diversity out there and that is great.

I do not look for or expect everyone to like or to comment all the time (it is not realistic) it has no impact on my desire to write.

So, enjoy the community that is supportive, yet do not let that be the motivating factor when it comes to the drive of one’s pursuit.

Love what you do and be encouraged by what you love.

WordPress

In November of 2005 I was surprised by an early Christmas gift that came by delivery.

Three huge boxes.

Inside the boxes were a desktop screen and keyboard, a computer system, and an all-in-one printer/fax/ink jet photo.

A former next-door neighbor and remaining family friend had bought me a Dell Windows XP that lasted for thirteen years.

The desktop screen eventually conked out and I purchased a laptop in 2019.

In the year of January 2006, I discovered a blogging site called Blog source. After a year had passed the website announced they would be shutting down yet gave all site users time to find another blog-site to transfer our blogs to.

As I searched the internet, I came across quite a few, but it was WordPress that caught my eye. I had a good feeling right away and signed up.

I copied my over one hundred posts from the prior blogging platform, and the rest is history.

I just wanted to acknowledge that I have been with WordPress a long time. Since August of 2007, fourteen years. Altogether, I have blogged for fifteen years if you include Blog source.

WordPress has changed a lot since I first began and has grown. I loved WordPress back then, throughout the years, and I still love WordPress now.

WordPress has so much to offer. It was, and still is, the best blog platform on the planet and I am proud to be a part of the community.

I have created eight blogs over the years on WordPress: My Voice, Born With Second-Sight, Walking With Jesus, Authentic Expression, Daily Living, My Testimony: The Power Of God, Daily Inspirations (blog devotionals), and LaToya: Living Blessed

Trans Media Agency Scam

On August 13, 2021 I received an email from a sender claiming to be affiliated with Roth and Kirschenbaum Films.

I am use to acquiring emails from scam artists and marketers trying to con or persuade me out of some money.

I have never given any of them the time of day as I was never interested or apt to fall for their schemes. These people are usually very easy to spot, especially when one knows what to look out for. However, common sense and intuition do just fine every time.

Anyway, I had never heard of Roth and Kirschenbaum but when I googled them, I found out they are a legitimate film production company.

Even so, I was not easily believing or taken in by the email.

I thought to myself that it could be someone using their information to make their correspondence appear authentic. Nevertheless, when I searched on the internet, I could not find any evidence as I often do to confirm my suspicions.

I had gotten curious and found a telephone number online to the production company but no one ever returned my call. An associate of mine suggested that I respond to the email (which I never planned on doing if they hadn’t suggested it to see If I would get a response).

Sure enough, I received a phone call the next day by someone claiming to be Petro Gold or something of that nature.

Without getting into all of the word for word details so I can make a long post a little shorter as I am already tired of going over the situation again.

This guy claimed their production company was interested in making a film or TV series of a book I wrote. And since they were the ones to approach me that they would pay for half the funds needed to have one of their literary firm affiliates write a screenplay since I didn’t have one on hand.

Right there that is B.S. because within a legit situation I would not have to contribute any money to anything or anyone.

The next day I get a call from a lady who introduced herself as Sandra Brown from Trans media, right away I knew she was full of further B.S. I told her straight up that I was experienced well enough knowing better than the nonsense she was talking.

When I rejected the phony offer, she then tried to offer other marketing strategies. When I hung up the phone I did another Google search, this time using “Trans media”.

This title gave me the evidence to confirm their specific agenda techniques.

I emailed the phony impersonator going by the name “Petro Gold” with screenshots of their scam from others who had also received emails from them. Then I called the lady going by the name “Sandra” and told her what they were doing was wrong and that I was going to expose them then I hung up on her.

She called me back shortly after (enough time to come up with some weak, ridiculous story that showed me just how sick and obnoxious these people really are) and she was nervous.

Sandra said that their legal team was taking action against those publicly accusing them of running a scam.

(Oh, what legal team? They are not even legal or reputable themselves. They need to be brought up on charges for false advertising and sneaky harassment.)

What pissed me off even though I was not ever one of their victims is how they plan and plot how to lie and underhandedly cheat and steal from people. The lengths that they go to.

They need to go out and get a real job or go to jail.

I have posted a screenshot of the email they sent to me, and screenshots from the site I found of other emails where they attempted to take advantage of people who authored books.

These scammers just get dumber and dumber.

Here is a link to the site that reported the scam too (https://accrispin.blogspot.com/2021/08/scam-alert-transmedia-agency.html?m=1)
